Healthy Life - Plan for the Year

At Greenwood School, Healthy Life is a practical and engaging subject that combines elements of Food Technology and Physical Education. The course is designed to help students develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to make positive choices about their health and wellbeing.

Students learn about the main food groups and the important role each plays in maintaining a healthy body. They explore how nutrition affects physical health, energy levels, growth and overall wellbeing, while developing an understanding of balanced diets and healthy eating habits. Alongside this, pupils take part in a variety of physical activities and learn about the benefits of regular exercise, fitness and leading an active lifestyle.

The subject encourages students to make informed decisions about their health, understand the relationship between nutrition and exercise, and develop lifelong habits that support both physical and mental wellbeing. Through a combination of practical activities, discussion and theory-based learning, Healthy Life equips young people with the knowledge and confidence to lead healthy lifestyles.
