Every member of our team is committed to helping each young person feel safe, supported and valued. We believe that every student, whatever their background or previous experiences, deserves the very best opportunities and support to help them succeed and prepare for a happy, independent adult life.

We work closely with nine secondary schools across the New Forest and provide short-term placements for students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who may:

Have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school or be at risk of permanent exclusion.
Have special educational needs and are awaiting a place at a specialist school.
Be unable to attend school due to medical needs.
Be experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties and need additional support.

Our main aim is to help every student achieve their full potential. We support academic progress while also recognising the importance of social, emotional and mental health. We understand that every young person is different, and we work closely with students, families, schools and, where appropriate, other agencies to provide the right support for each individual.

Learning takes place both on and off site. Students have opportunities to learn through classroom-based lessons, Learning Beyond the Classroom activities and alternative provision. All students follow a curriculum that is carefully planned around their individual needs.

For students in Key Stage 3, there is a strong focus on developing the skills and strategies needed to support their social, emotional and mental health, alongside their educational progress. Students in Key Stage 4 follow a personalised curriculum that may include a combination of academic subjects and vocational programmes, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

We also work closely with mainstream schools to support students who are preparing to return to mainstream education. Our outreach work helps schools to support young people at an earlier stage, with the aim of reducing exclusions and ensuring students receive the help they need.

We believe passionately that our students should have the same opportunities as their peers in mainstream education. We have high expectations of every young person, while recognising that they may need different levels and types of support to achieve their goals. We will challenge, encourage and support our students every step of the way.

Our aim is to help each student make positive progress and move successfully on to the next stage of their journey—whether that is returning to mainstream school, moving to specialist provision, or progressing into post-16 education, training or employment.
